CAMPAIGN
WŁODAWA 2003
On Sunday, 19th October at 5.30 p.m. we had a concert in the cultural center in Włodawa. Let us start with a few words about Włodawa. It is a town of 15,000 inhabitants which is lying on the Bug river and on the border of three countries - Poland, Belarus and Ukraine. Next year we will have the border of the European Union there. During the Second World War it had a Jewish ghetto where Jews were brought from Cracow and Vienna. The town was multinational, which can be proved by the presence of an Orthodox church and a Jewish synagogue.
This time our missionary team consisted only of Polish people, but there were 23 of us. We came to Włodawa from Lublin in three cars and two of them were big ones. Actually soon we will need a bus because so many young people want to participate in evangelism that we are hardly able to take all volunteers.
Together with the missionary team of Euromission Poland we had young people from various churches in Lublin. Our programme consisted of a musical and artistic part as well as evangelistic preaching - "The real freedom can be found only in Jesus!" In the first part we had a performance of the music band and dancers with flags. There were also dramas and choreography presenting the victory of Lord Jesus over sin, death and bondage. We had testimonies of God's salvation and release. After preaching the Gospel we prayed for salvation with those who raised their hands as a sign that they wanted to follow Christ. At the end of the concert everybody could receive the New Testament and evangelistic tracts. We were approached by people who wanted to pray for healing and stay in touch with us. Afterwards we were invited for supper in the missionary center in Włodawa, where services are held each Sunday at 4 p.m. As we see the open door for preaching the Gospel and the spiritual needs of that town, we hope to go back there in order to sow and reap even more for God's glory.
